Sad to report that both of us have now fully canceled all Reykjavik excursions; we’ll see that trendy, ancient town from the ship, from separate balconies. Our ship is scheduled to circuit Iceland; we hope that this will provide photo ops as well. Bob continues to recuperate, suffering primarily a wretched cough and the fear that his cabin’s balcony is on the wrong side of the ship; my positive antigen test results this morning continue my isolation for at least another two days. It’s not nice to be the carrier of a potentially fatal virus. My aft balcony view continues to give me joy. Nothing like traveling to nowhere in great luxury. Which this is.
To give the ship its due credit, the place is organized. Food is delivered wrapped in plastic (see my breakfast tray. I always demand food pictures from my traveling friends; this is what you get from me just now!) I just called the Destination Desk to cancel our Reykjavik tours, and was gently told “we did that already; hope you feel better soon.” It would be interesting to know how many of us there are in isolation; crew clearly knows, but HIPAA (and probably cruise sales) require confidentiality.

The 46-day itinerary we are taking consists of 4 portions. Reykjavik ends the first portion, and thus a new beginning is coming our way. Whatever these next days, the cruise will end with our return home to our wise and supportive friends and family. Thank you.
Oh so sorry. Fingers crossed that weather and your health(s) continue to improve.
